Ecuador Arbitration 
Ecuador is a FORMER Contracting State to the ICSID Convention:

- On 19 April 1988 & 21 August 2002 respectively, pursuant to Article 25(3) of the ICSID Convention, Ecuador designated 2 constiuent Subdivisions/Agencies as competent to be parties to an ICSID arbitration: 1) Corporacion Estatal Petroleta Ecuatoriana; 2) Consejo Nacional de Electricidad (CONSELEC)
- On 4 December 2007, Ecuador notified ICSID that it "will not consent to the jurisdiction of [ICSID,] the disputes that arise in matters concerning the treatment of an investment in economci activities related to the exploitation of natural resources, such as oil, gas, minerals or others. Any intrument containing Ecuador's previously expressed will to submit that class of disputes to [ICSID jurisdiction] which has not been perfected by the express and explicit consent of the other party given prior to the dateof submission of the present notification, is hereby withdrawn by [Ecuador] with immediate effect as of this date."
