Cyprus is a Contracting State to the ICSID Convention:

• Signature: 9 March 1966
• Deposit of Ratification: 25 November 1966
• Entry into Force: 25 December 1966
• Pursuant to Article 54(2) of the ICSID Convention, Cyprus has designated “District Court, Nicosia” as competent for the recognition and enforcement of ICSID awards.
• Pursuant to Article 69 of the ICSID Convention, Cyprus enacted the Council of Ministers Decision No. 5331 of January 20, 1966 (Off. Gaz. 532, October 27, 1966); Law No. 64 of 1966 on approval of Convention by the House of Representatives (Off. Gaz. 532, October 27, 1966) to make the Convention effective in their jurisdiction.
• Pursuant to Article 13(1) of the ICSID Convention Cyprus has made the following panel designations effective until 13 February 2009:
  - Amb. Andreas J. JACOVIDES: Past Member, International Law Commission
  - Mr. Petros KLERIDES: Attorney-General
  - Mr. Lazaros LAZAROU: Accountant-General
  - Mr. Georgios PIKIS: President, Supreme Court

Cyprus is a Contracting State to the New York Convention:

• Date of Accession: 29 December 1980
• Entry into Force: 29 March 1981
• Cyprus will only apply the New York Convention to the recognition and enforcement of awards made in the territory of another contracting state & only to differences arising out of legal relationships, whether contractual or not, that are considered commercial under their national law

Cyprus is not a Contracting State to the 1899 Convention for the Pacific Settlement of International Disputes:
